Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. - Leonardo da Vinci
I had an impromptu coaching session last week with a client. They were talking about wanting to fulfil their dreams to be a writer.
I asked them the age old coaching question - What's stopping you? There was a long pause and then they launched into..... but I can't because I can't afford it. I need to met the right people. No one's responding to my emails. I don't have time.
Does this sound familiar? At a point in my life, many many moons ago, I would have found myself nodding my head and saying I totally understand. But I don't. Not anymore. If you want it. It may not happen overnight, but if you don't start putting the pieces into place, it won't ever happen. Very quickly in our busy lives, six months turns into year and that into five and then ten and before you know it, you're saying it's too late. If that's ok. Then close your eyes and continue dreaming, because that's enough for some.
So - if not now. When? It's ok for it not to be today, or tomorrow or next week. But at same point if you have something that you are passionate about, that you want really badly, then you need to put a date in the diary to allow yourself time to dream. To plan. To set goals and start working towards them. Realising your dreams is scary. You might actually succeed!
So do yourself a favour and answer honestly. What's stopping you?
